  • The 2004 Triangle Native American Society (TNAS) Scholarship Gala will be held August 21, from 6:30PM to 1 AM, at the Brownstone Inn in Raleigh. This is the major fund-raising event for our scholarship fund and this year's focus will be on honoring the founding members of our organization.

  • The scholarship fund was established in 1985 to assist Native American students interested in pursuing an undergraduate degree. The primary focus of the program is to provide financial assistance to those students who can demonstrate a commitment to Native American people and opportunities for American Indians to better their lives through academic achievement and community involvement. More than twenty-five Native American students have benefited from this program and have gone on to careers in engineering, law, education, allied heath and medicine. These students have served their communities as volunteers in churches and community organizations and as mentors and role models to younger students within their respective communities. We believe such efforts benefits communities as a whole across our state.

  • Scholarship recipients are American Indian students in their sophomore, junior and senior years of study. All proceeds from this annual fundraising event are used to provide educational scholarships. Your gift helps provide students across North Carolina with the funding they need. We welcome you as a sponsor and supporter of this special event.

  • This special evening is one full of a series of events including an artist's reception, good food, scholarship award presentations, the unveiling of a commissioned work of art, a silent auction of original artwork and other items donated to raise funds for the scholarship. We will close out the evening with music and a dance.
  • Entertainment for the Gala includes traditional cultural performers. Attendees also will be entertained by music provided by a local DJ so they can celebrate with the scholarship recipient and dance the night away. Don't miss the fun. Join us in honoring our founders, celebrate the accomplishments of our scholarship recipients and to network, fellowship, educate, and engage with one another and strengthen cross cultural ties in our community.

  • Triangle Native American Society (TNAS) was founded in 1984 to provide assistance and support for Native Americans in the Triangle and surrounding area and was incorporated as a non-profit tax-exempt organization in 1985. Since its inception, TNAS has endeavored to promote and protect the Native American identity in the Triangle area by increasing the public's awareness of the cultural and economic contributions made by Native Americans and enhancing the public recognition of the needs of Native Americans.
