  • Officers are elected each year at the general membership meeting. The President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer are elected by the membership.
  • Standing committees are appointed for Education, Fund Raising, Scholarship, Membership, Social Events, Gala, Powwow and Special Projects.

  • Regular Members: Native Americans who reside in and around the Triangle area shall be entitled to regular membership.
  • Student Members: Full-time students are eligible for regular membership at a reduced rate.
  • Associate Members: Native Americans/non-Indians who live in or outside the Triangle area who are interested in the Society are eligible for associate membership.
  • Corporate Members: Businesses or firms not eligible for regular or associate membership who are concerned and interested in the activities of Native Americans are eligible for corporate membership.
  • Dues are collected at the annual meeting.
  • Membership Costs:

    Regular— $25.00 American Indian living in the Triangle Area

    Family— $30.00

    Associate— $25.00 American Indian living outside the Triangle Area

    Family— $30.00

    Student— $5.00 Full time American Indian college student

    Affiliate— $25.00 Individuals not eligible for registered memberships

  • Members meet on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 PM, at the Wade Edwards Learning Lab (WELL), Raleigh, NC.

  • Representation on the Martin Luther King, Jr.

  • Co-sponsor Annual Traditional Thanksgiving Dinner with NC Museum of Science & Natural History
  • Annual Participation in Annual NC Indian Unity Conference
  • Annual participation in the Multiple Sclerosis Walkathon
  • Annual Pow Wow at State Farmers Market
  • Annually host a formal Native American Indian Heritage Scholarship Gala
  • Secured funding for a statewide needs assessment of Indian communities

  • First featured group at the International Festival in Raleigh
  • Developed Indian license plate for the 1986 Year of the Native American
  • Co-Sponsored first state Native American Art Show at State Museum of Natural Science
  • Sponsored first National Native American Art Show at Duke University
  • Co-sponsored the cleaning of Rachel Blythe tombstone and the erecting of A.G. Bauer tombstone at Oakwood Cemetery (caring for the remains of our ancestors)
  • Co-sponsored a lecture and reception on the A.G. Bauer Building and the Blythe-Bauer marriage at the State Capitol
  • Established the Title IX Indian Education Program in Wake County
  • Co-sponsored coffee at Governor's Mansion
